Silver Cockleshell Pendant Necklace

Cockleshell design cast from a real seashell.
Recycled fine silver, handmade in the UK.
Includes a 16-inch sterling silver chain.

The pleasure of this cockleshell necklace is in its small grooves. Sue takes the surface of a real shell into fine silver, preserving the sort of detail you notice when turning a beach find between your fingers. It is a coastal keepsake that earns its place through texture.

THE HANDS BEHIND THE PIECE

The Magic of Fireflies and Dragonflies
Suffolk, UK

Sue Studd brings a teacher’s curiosity and an artist’s eye to silver clay. Working in Suffolk, she builds jewellery around the small details of the natural world: a dragonfly’s wings, a leaf’s branching veins, the outline of a shell. Her background spans painting, textiles and primary teaching; today, she makes fine silver jewellery and shares the craft through hands-on workshops.
