Start with the way you’ll wear it
A daisy can be a tiny detail beside your face or the centre of a necklace you reach for every morning. Before comparing flowers, think about which kind of jewellery already earns its place in your day. If you usually wear studs, a floral pair might slip into your routine more easily than a statement necklace.
Our handmade daisy jewellery collection brings together rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets. Look at the scale as well as the shape: a close-up photograph can make a little flower feel much larger than it will be when worn. Compare the listed measurements with a piece you already own.
Three makers, three different flowers
At Silver Daisy, Katy cuts the sterling silver petals of her Daisy Stud Earrings by hand, then gently domes them. Small 9ct yellow gold granules form the centre. The polished petals and rounded middle give the flower a bright, familiar outline.
Hollie’s Gold & Silver Large Daisy Stud Earrings at Curious Magpie Jewellery use two layers of fine silver petals around a 24ct gold accent. At approximately 15mm across, this particular design has a fuller, more sculptural presence. Both pairs are studs, but the shape and finish create quite different effects.
Sue of The Magic of Fireflies and Dragonflies brings texture to the petals of her fine silver Daisy Necklace. A gold-leaf centre adds warmth, with the flower hanging from a sterling silver chain. It’s another way to enjoy the silver-and-gold combination, with the detail at your neckline.
Look closely at the golden centre
Gold granules, gold accents and gold leaf can all give a daisy its yellow middle, but they describe different material details. Read the description of the particular piece you love, including its chain and fittings. A golden centre does not mean the whole flower is made from gold.
The contrast can also help you style a new piece. Try a daisy with an existing silver chain, a plain band or a small gold stud, and let the flower connect colours you already enjoy wearing.
Choosing a daisy jewellery gift
Think about what the person wears, as well as the flower they love. A ring needs the right size; earrings need the right fastening for the way they wear them. With a necklace, check the pendant dimensions, chain length and whether the chain is included.
Once a design catches your eye, get to know its maker and follow the link to their own shop. Check the available options and making time there, particularly for a birthday or other fixed date. A little thought about how the piece will be worn is what turns a lovely flower into a lovely gift.
