Treasure - Amphitrite Moissanite Solitaire

8mm moissanite centre stone
9ct yellow gold
Textured setting with barnacle detail

An 8mm moissanite gives Amphitrite its bold point of light. Jo surrounds the solitaire with textured yellow gold and small barnacles, lending a coastal character to a classic single-stone ring.

THE HANDS BEHIND THE PIECE

Rockpool Jewellery
Whitley Bay, UK

Jo makes Rockpool Jewellery in Whitley Bay, taking the nearby sea as her starting point. Carved wax and lost-wax casting give her silver and gold pieces their distinctive surfaces. Barnacles appear throughout the work: small, irregular forms that become a way of celebrating the character we acquire through life.
