Out on the Beach — One of a Kind Textile Art

£350

The Magic of Fireflies and Dragonflies
  • One-of-a-kind coastal textile artwork by Sue Studd
  • Painted and frayed silk with netting
  • Freshwater pearl details

Bands of blue fabric give this textile seascape its sense of moving water. Sue works with shifting colour and texture rather than a literal shoreline, allowing the surface to suggest the changing depth of the sea.

THE HANDS BEHIND THE PIECE

Meet Sue Studd.

The Magic of Fireflies and Dragonflies
Suffolk, UK

Sue Studd brings a teacher’s curiosity and an artist’s eye to silver clay. Working in Suffolk, she builds jewellery around the small details of the natural world: a dragonfly’s wings, a leaf’s branching veins, the outline of a shell. Her background spans painting, textiles and primary teaching; today, she makes fine silver jewellery and shares the craft through hands-on workshops.
