Blue Dragonfly Beaded Textile Art

£250

The Magic of Fireflies and Dragonflies
  • One-of-a-kind textile artwork by Sue Studd
  • Raised, cushioned fabric construction with blue tones
  • Beadwork and hand-sewn antique crystals

Sue’s dragonfly takes shape in stitches rather than silver. Raised blue fabric gives the insect a sculptural presence, while its dark setting lets the colour hold your attention. This is a one-off textile artwork for the home, with a different kind of detail to discover as the light changes.

THE HANDS BEHIND THE PIECE

Meet Sue Studd.

The Magic of Fireflies and Dragonflies
Suffolk, UK

Sue Studd brings a teacher’s curiosity and an artist’s eye to silver clay. Working in Suffolk, she builds jewellery around the small details of the natural world: a dragonfly’s wings, a leaf’s branching veins, the outline of a shell. Her background spans painting, textiles and primary teaching; today, she makes fine silver jewellery and shares the craft through hands-on workshops.
