Silver Owl and Star Necklace with Amethyst

Handmade fine silver owl pendant.
Layered silver star motifs.
Amethyst gemstone.

Purple amethyst draws the eye into this compact owl-and-star pendant. Sue layers the silver motifs around it, creating a necklace with a clear gemstone centre and several smaller details to explore. It is a lovely balance of animal subject, celestial pattern and colour.

THE HANDS BEHIND THE PIECE

The Magic of Fireflies and Dragonflies
Suffolk, UK

Sue Studd brings a teacher’s curiosity and an artist’s eye to silver clay. Working in Suffolk, she builds jewellery around the small details of the natural world: a dragonfly’s wings, a leaf’s branching veins, the outline of a shell. Her background spans painting, textiles and primary teaching; today, she makes fine silver jewellery and shares the craft through hands-on workshops.
