The veins in this geranium leaf began with an actual leaf. Sue carries its contours into fine silver, so the appeal comes from nature’s own irregular drawing rather than a simplified botanical symbol. It is a lovely piece for a gardener who always notices the leaves as well as the flowers.

Working in Suffolk, she builds jewellery around the small details of the natural world: a dragonfly’s wings, a leaf’s branching veins, the outline of a shell. Her background spans painting, textiles and primary teaching; today, she makes fine silver jewellery and shares the craft through hands-on workshops.
