Dragonfly & Catkin Pendant

£125

The Magic of Fireflies and Dragonflies
  • Dragonfly positioned on a willow catkin.
  • 999 fine silver, with the catkin cast from a willow catkin.
  • 16-inch sterling silver chain included.

Sue’s dragonfly pauses on a willow catkin, making this pendant feel like a close observation from a riverside walk. The two natural forms give the silverwork a distinctive subject: the fine structure of the insect set against the different texture of the catkin beneath it.

THE HANDS BEHIND THE PIECE

Meet Sue Studd.

The Magic of Fireflies and Dragonflies
Suffolk, UK

Sue Studd brings a teacher’s curiosity and an artist’s eye to silver clay. Working in Suffolk, she builds jewellery around the small details of the natural world: a dragonfly’s wings, a leaf’s branching veins, the outline of a shell. Her background spans painting, textiles and primary teaching; today, she makes fine silver jewellery and shares the craft through hands-on workshops.
