Give your autumn palette a little room

Autumn colour can be more than rust, brown and gold. Pink and purple can sit beautifully beside olive, charcoal and cream, whether you choose a small flash at the ear or a ring you see throughout the day. Start with a colour you enjoy wearing rather than one the season is supposed to demand.

Purple with movement

Sue’s Silver Teardrop and Amethyst Drop Earrings bring together round amethyst beads, embossed silver charms and linked sections. The purple appears in a cluster of small stones, with the different elements moving together. Try them with a simple neckline so the drops have a little space around them.

Pink among the textures

Jo’s Pink Sapphire Cluster Ring places pink stones among her characteristic barnacle forms. This particular one-off design was modelled in wax and cast in 9ct Single Mine Origin gold. Its product page gives the listed size and directs resizing enquiries to Jo; a photograph cannot tell you whether a ring will fit.

For colour around the wrist, Rockpool’s Sapphire Gemstone Bracelet offers combinations tied to specific lengths. Explore the actual options together: the colour you prefer and the measurement that works for you may affect the choice.

Let one colour lead

You might wear purple earrings with a plain silver necklace, or let a pink ring be the only bright detail against a neutral sleeve. If you prefer more colour, try repeating a shade already present in a scarf or cardigan. The aim is a combination you want to wear again.
