A bark-textured surface gives these little silver hearts an earthy twist. The familiar heart outline is cut by hand, then worked with irregular marks that recall a tree’s outer surface. It is a small expression of affection with woodland character, rather than a perfectly smooth, glossy finish.

For many of her woodland pieces, lost-wax casting carries the surface of a real natural find into metal, preserving the irregularities that first caught her eye.
